WAT TYLER
AND THE PEASANT's REVOLTCHAMPIONING COMMUNITY
With funding and support from the Creative Estuary Co-Commissioning Programme, we are excited to announce that our Wat Tyler project will further develop in 2025 as an intergenerational initiative. This project builds on our Summer 2024 ACE-funded programme, which explored the history of the Peasants’ Revolt of 1381 through theatre and set-making.
BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER
Our Creative Estuary-funded programme will utilise what we’ve learned to create a community theatre project in Basildon. Participants will have the opportunity to explore their local and regional history by spending up to 12 weeks developing a participatory show alongside professional actors and artists.
Stay tuned for more information as dates and venues are confirmed, and find out how YOU can get involved if you live in the Basildon area!
This project is supported by the Creative Esturay Co-Comission Fund and Basildon Council’s Grants to Community and Voluntary Organisations.
